Causes

Each year we pick up a number of employee-submitted causes to support through fundraising, event attendance, and visibility.

Anne Arundel County Schools

There are over 22,000 children in Anne Arundel County who qualify for Federal Lunch assistance, an indication that the children’s families are low income. In 1989 the Department of Social Services began this program and partnered shortly thereafter with the local Board of Education to help children who attend the County’s public elementary schools.

American Cancer Society

At the American Cancer Society, we’re on a mission to free the world from cancer. Until we do, we’ll be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention. All so you can live longer — and better.

The Great Cycle Challenge USA

Great Cycle Challenge started in 2015, and after just 5 years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in the United States. People of all ages, abilities and from every state across the country set themselves a personal bike riding goal and challenge themselves to pedal to fight kids’ cancer.

Out of the Darkness Walk

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention funds scientific research, educates the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention, and provides resources for survivors of suicide, loss, and people at risk. The Out of the Darkness Walks created a movement to give people the courage to open up about their own struggle or loss, and the platform to change our culture’s approach to mental health.

The Humane Way Animal Rescue

Founded in 2019, The Humane Way Animal Rescue is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to saving abandoned animals and finding their perfect family match. With a team of behaviorists and highly knowledgeable volunteers, this rescue strives to not only place animals in forever homes, but to provide lifetime support, should you face any behavioral challenges.

Small Miracles Rescue

Small Miracles Cat & Dog Rescue is a private, nonprofit, shelter dedicated to providing the best possible care and finding forever homes for as many homeless cats and dogs as they are able. As a no-kill shelter, Small Miracles accepts animals that other shelters often euthanize, including pregnant cats and dogs.

St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, which means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit corporation that was formed for the purpose of creating decent and affordable homeownership opportunities in Maryland. Habitat for Humanity supports the notion that good, stable housing matters for neighborhoods. Better quality of living leads to stronger citizens and families. Habitat for Humanity is about changing lives, one home at a time.

Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.

SOME: So Others Might Eat

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital. We meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing, and healthcare. We help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly, and individuals with mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity one person at a time.
